Dental Hygiene
We employ a full-time dental hygienist plus a few part-time dental hygienists. Each of them is experienced and highly qualified. Generally, patients are assessed at the initial complete examination for their needs in dental hygiene. Our goal is to achieve a partnership between us and our patients aiming for good oral hygiene at home in order to maintain healthy gums and teeth. When we see our patients at regular recalls with very few deposits of tartar and the gums are free of inflammation, we have both achieved success. Generally, our patients come every six months to see us for a cleaning and checkup. For those conscientious enough to be meticulously clean, once every nine months is sufficient. However, many of our patients have gum disease at various stages and cannot be effectively maintained unless they are seen every three months. Therefore, it is what are patients do at home on a daily basis for their own oral hygiene that is most important in deciding what they will need from us.
